The production line of ceramic tiles in industrial factories must use steam, glazing and printing machines. These have negative effects on the roof of the factory. Glazing materials that will go into high heat in the kiln and are printed. They send it to the kiln to increase its strength. The firing process consists of high temperature and pressure. The primary raw materials used in the production of ceramic tiles are clay, sand, calcite, feldspar, silica, etc.
Clay is one of the most essential raw materials for ceramic tile manufacturing. Feldspar is a mineral they use it as a flux in the ceramic industry. It lowers the melting point of the ceramic mixture, improve the glaze’s durability, and enhance the overall firing process.
Silica is commonly found in the form of sand or quartz. They use it to provide strength and hardness to the ceramic tile texture. It also helps control shrinkage during firing. Various pigments and colorants are added to the ceramic tile mixture. This will create different colors and patterns on the surface of the tiles.

They add additives such as plasticizers, binders, and deflocculants in the raw material mix. This will improve workability, moldability, and overall performance of the tile during the manufacturing process.

The raw materials are first mined, crushed, and refined to achieve the desired particle size distribution and chemical composition.
The raw materials are thoroughly mixed in precise proportions to create a homogenous ceramic powder blend. Water may be added to facilitate mixing and form a workable paste. Then they shape ceramic paste into tiles using various techniques. such as pressing, extrusion, or casting to achieve the desired size and thickness.
Then they dry the newly formed tiles to remove excess moisture and prepare them for the firing process. This is because high temperature can remove water. The glaze used on ceramic tiles often contains various chemical components, such as oxides and fluxes that can release vapors and gases when subjected to high temperatures during firing. Some glaze materials may contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other polluting substances that can evaporate and be released into the air. During the firing process, organic binders or additives present in the ceramic body or glaze can decompose and release gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides.
